The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is designed to guide to the next phase of being a diver. As you may already have discovered, there are a lot of fun experiences to choose from when Diving, whether you want to dive a wreck, deep, or take digital snapshots to share with your friends and family, the PADI Advanced Open Water course is the next step for any avid diver. Their are so many option to choose from, it’s really up to you which specialties you are most interested in. The course is really designed to give you a taste of different aspects of diving.
During your PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course with Jomtien Dive Center Pattaya, you will be spending two days on the boat, with one of our passionate PADI professional diving Instructors. You will complete five Specialty dives. PADI requires you to complete the Deep Diver and Underwater Navigator specialty dives, as part of the specialties after all, you are becoming a more independent diver also everybody loves a deep dive. Besides the two required specialty dives, you will get a chance to choose the three remaining specialties that you would like to do. Their are quite a number of specialties to choose from it’s really up to you, at Jomtien Dive Center Pattaya we recommend, AWARE Fish Identification, Wreck Diver, Drift Diver, Digital Underwater Photography, and Peak Performance Buoyancy. Why you ask, It’s because Pattaya’s islands offer some of the best opportunities to hone your skills in each of these specialties. if you would like to choose your own specialties from the Padi Advanced Open Water list, please just ask one of our PADI Instructors and we will be more than willing to facilitate that for you.
Sign up for Advanced Open Water Diver Online – PADI’s e-Learning option – to get started immediately. The web-based system lets you learn about seven of the most popular Adventures Dives – including the required Deep and Underwater Navigation Adventure Dives, plus Boat, Night, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Underwater Naturalist and Wreck Adventure Dives. You study at your own pace through an easy to use, interactive program. You also have access to an online version of the Adventures in Diving manual and can complete sections for other Adventure Dives as directed by our PADI Instructors.
You can also choose to read the Adventures in Diving manual and watch the Adventures in Diving video (a book and DVD package). Stop by Jomtien Dive Center to enroll in the course, get your materials and start learning. Our PADI Instructor will meet with you to schedule knowledge review sessions along with your Adventure Dives.
We at Jomtien Dive Center, Pattaya, like to do the Advanced Open Water course the best. We truly enjoy taking Open Water Divers who are pretty comfortable in the water and showing them the adventures that are possible to find underwater and helping them gain the skills and confidence to push their experiences to another level.
Our student to instructor ratio is generally one to three students per dive professional so that students will enjoy 1 on 1 attention from their instructor.
The course can be accomplished in two days, all on our the boat, our own boat. There are two core dives required for the certification, the underwater navigation dive and the deep dive (30 meters give or take). There are a total of 18 other dives to choose from to complete the other three dives necessary for the Advanced Open Water certification.
Here at Jomtien Dive Center we recommend that the Peak Performance Buoyancy Dive should be considered as this is the one skill that will enhance every dive you will ever do.
The other recommended dives to consider is Wreck Diving we have great “Theme Park” prepared wrecks available is the Wreck Dive, will be an unforgettable experience for yourself.
Other Adventure Dive we like to promote is the Search and Recovery Dive.
The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is all about making your diving more relaxing and better. It’s designed to advance your diving to a higher level in many specialities. this is a great course to start directly after taking your PADI Open Water Diver certification. The course is designed to help build confidence and expand your scuba skills through different Adventure Dives. You try out different specialties while gaining experience under the supervision of our fully qualified PADI Instructors. You log dives and develop capabilities as you find new ways to have fun scuba diving.
Get your credit ! Each Adventure Dive may credit toward the first dive of the corresponding PADI Specialty Diver Course. If you’ve already taken a specialty diver course, ask our instructors if you’ve earned credit for an Adventure Dive.
Within the Padi Advanced Open Water Course You will plan your learning path with one of our instructors by choosing from a long list of Adventure Dives. There are two required dives that most be completed – Deep Dive and Underwater Navigation – and you can choose the other three, for a total of five dives.
During the Deep Adventure Dive, you learn how to plan dives to deal with the physiological effects and challenges of deeper scuba diving. The Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive refines your compass navigation skills and helps you better navigate using kick-cycles, visual landmarks and time.
The other knowledge and skills you get vary with your interest and the adventures you have – photography, buoyancy control, fish identification, exploring wrecks and many more.
You may be able to get college credit for the Advanced Open Water Diver course.
At Jomtien Dive Center Pattaya, We try not have large groups of people to 1 instructor this is purely for safety reasons and giving you the best instruction we can. The maximum is 1 instructor to 2 students.
You receive a code to register online and then you can read and study the theory online before the dives. The theory will be reviewed and reinforced by your PADI instructor during the dives. Unlike the Open water course are is no videos to watch and no quizzes or final exam.
PADI (Junior) Open Water Divers who are at least 12 years old are ready to step up and enroll in an Advanced Open Water Diver course. Young divers may only participate in certain Adventures Dives. Basically anybody who has taken an Open Water Course – check with our PADI Instructors.
Any specialty dive you choose for your Advanced Open Water Diver Course will count as the first dive towards your full PADI Specialty Diver certification.
Please read the medical statement and make sure you are medically fit to dive before booking your course. Any YES answers you must be signed off by a doctor before you start.
Please note you cannot fly for at least 18hrs after diving.
We provide all the basic scuba gear you will use including a mask, snorkel, fins, regulator with dive gauge, buoyancy control device, tanks and weights.
Beyond using basic scuba equipment, you’ll need a compass and dive knife or dive tool. You’ll also use specialized gear depending on the Adventure Dives you choose. For example, you’d obviously use a Compass for the Underwater Navigator Adventure Dive or a side-mount configuration during the Side-mount Adventure Dive. Our PADI Instructors will explain the equipment that you need and may suggest additional gear, such as dive light for night diving or lift bag for search and recovery diving.
